1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. They let a website remember things between pages and visits — for example, that you are signed in. Similar technologies (such as local storage) work in comparable ways; where we say “cookies” we mean these too.

2. The cookies we use

Profui uses only strictly necessary cookies — the ones required to run the service and keep it secure. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not use third-party tracking or analytics cookies. The cookies we set fall into two groups:

• Authentication / session — keep you securely signed in as you move around the app, and sign you out when you ask. Without these you cannot use Profui.
• Security — help protect against abuse and fraudulent requests (for example, rate limiting and request protection).

When you go to our payment pages, our payment processor (Stripe) operates its own checkout and billing portal on its own domain and may set its own cookies there, which are necessary for secure payment. Those cookies are governed by Stripe's own cookie and privacy policies.

3. Do we need your consent?

Strictly necessary cookies are exempt from the consent requirement under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR, because the service cannot function without them. We therefore do not show a consent banner asking you to accept or reject optional cookies — there are none to accept or reject. We simply tell you what we use, which is what this policy is for.

If we ever introduce non-essential cookies (such as analytics), we will update this policy and ask for your consent before setting them.

4. Managing cookies

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and set your browser to block them. Please note that blocking our strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in and using Profui.

5. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Effective” date above shows when this version took effect.
